Another arctic explosion at Deep Freeze Maine this weekend

The Mainers braved a chilly start to the week. It looks like the weekend will mark a return to the cold.
the National Weather Service predicts another arctic explosion. Freezing temperatures return to Maine on Friday evening, when overnight lows are expected to be well below freezing. The Bangor area will see temperatures drop to near -10 overnight from Friday to Saturday. Daytime temperatures on Saturday will likely reach near 5 above. Overnight lows should again be near -10, Saturday night through Sunday.
Northern regions are likely to remain below zero Friday evening through Sunday.
Earlier in the week, arctic air combined with windy conditions prompted wind chill advisories and warnings across the state. Bangor saw that it is coldest day since January 6, 2018. For Caribou, Monday was the coldest day since January 8, 2015.
