Here’s what we love about the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet
The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet first appeared in August 2017 during Monterey Auto Week in Pebble Beach, Calif. And was, without a doubt, one of the show’s highlights. The Mercedes-Benz concept was created by Gordon Wagener, the chief designer of Daimler, who, during the presentation in California, said that “The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet takes modern luxury into the realm of ultimate luxury. . “
Essentially, a roofless version of the extremely stylish Maybach Vision 6 coupe concept, revealed in 2016, can only be the pinnacle of luxury. In addition, the car is full of technical innovations and has an all-wheel drive system.
The extraordinary dimensions of the ostentatious convertible exude grandeur and opulence. The luxurious interior is pure “automotive haute couture”. Plus, the elongated silhouette is somewhat reminiscent of the Maybach SW38 Roadster from 1938. The Vision 6 Cabriolet has an amazing stance, characterized by the extended slanted rear end, or “boat tail” mimicking a luxury yacht. Indeed, the nautical theme is predominant throughout this car.
Design inspired by luxury yachts
Aesthetically, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet is beautifully designed with unparalleled presence. Inspired by luxury yachts, the sensual design of the Maybach concept is unique and timeless. Without a doubt, the definition of optimal luxury for the future. The body appears as a singular clear surface, uninterrupted by broken panels. In addition, the flowing, clean lines of the slender silhouette accentuate the monumental length of the hood and the imposing chrome grille up front, which takes center stage. Not to mention the navy blue paint, which sports the huge 24-inch multi-spoke alloy rims at each corner, trimmed in rose gold, of course.
While the Maybach Vision 6’s scale is somewhat baffling, it’s not intimidating. Measuring 6 meters long and 2 meters wide, there is only one two-seater left. Plus, two butterfly panels on the hood open to reveal travel and picnic essentials such as plates, cutlery and an exclusive set of suitcases.
In addition, the interior presents a combination of classic and ultra-modern elements. Quilted crystal white nappa leather panels adorn the minimalist interior. In addition, the leather around the center tunnel and the bases of the seats is a continuous piece. The seats themselves are similar to high-end chesterfield furniture, with each button housing a backlit Mercedes star in blue. In addition, ambient blue lighting provides a decidedly modern appearance. Indeed, the exquisite curves and surfaces of the interior provide an opulent yet futuristic alfresco living room that blends in well with the exterior styling. Additionally, the nautical theme continues in the cabin, which incorporates wood flooring with aluminum inlays.
Clear glass covers the futuristic center console with wrap-around screens offering holographic displays. In addition, a voice command system controls a range of functions. The dials, however, are rose gold and have classic analog pointers. In addition, two heads-up displays appear on the windshield display functions. The convertible Maybach 6 vision concept even has biometric sensors that continuously monitor the health and well-being of its occupants. In addition, the huge central tunnel is transparent and houses blue optical fibers that visualize the flow of energy to the wheels. The attention to detail is even evident in the gorgeous convertible top, threaded in stunning rose gold.
Four-magnet synchronous electric motors on both axles power all four wheels – 740 horsepower, to be exact. In addition, the Maybach Vision 6 Cabriolet can sprint from 0 to 100 km in just under four seconds. Top speed, however, is electronically limited to 155 mph. Apparently, the extravagant luxury road yacht has a range of over 200 miles, thanks to its gigantic battery. Interestingly, however, it has a quick charge feature that allows the range to increase by 60 miles in 5 minutes.

The Maybach Cabriolet concept has already appeared in a clip by Canadian rapper Drake. In reality, Mercedes has no plans for the ultra-luxurious Vision 6. Moreover, it is purely a study model expressing the design and technological path that the Maybach range will take in the years to come. .
Mercedes-Maybach is expected to launch a new SUV concept ahead of the Beijing Auto Show, but before that they teased the drivers.
