Pervanovo acquires veneer company Spačva in Croatia
Pervanovo Invest AB, headquartered in Viken, Sweden and with subsidiaries in Croatia, acquired 98% of the shares of Spačva dd in Vinkovci, Croatia
Spačva employs 850 people and is one of the largest European manufacturers of oak veneer.
Following the acquisition, Pervanovo will become Croatia’s largest timber processing company with 1,700 employees and 5 production units.
The two Croatian veneer companies of Pervanovo, Bjelin Otok and Spačva dd, located on the edge of the largest continuous oak forest in Europe, the Spačva forest, have a production capacity of 25 million m² of oak veneer . Pervanovo thus becomes the largest European manufacturer of high quality FSC certified oak veneers for the parquet and furniture industry.
In a few years, most of the oak veneer will be used in-house to produce hardwood floors in Viken, Sweden and Ogulin, Croatia using the patented Woodura technology developed by the Pervanovo Välinge subsidiary in Viken.
Darko Pervan, CEO of Pervanovo Invest AB, says: “There is a general oak shortage and the acquisition will double our oak supply. With our new Woodura technology, we can make 10 times more hardened floors from an oak log than when conventional technology is used. Thanks to this acquisition, we have now obtained all the oak veneers we need to become the European leader in wood floors with production exceeding 20 million m².“
